Soccer - Number 3 -

Alessandro played soccer this fall and it was really exciting. Exciting for him to get out and play with the other little guys and exciting for us all to get ourselves together on Saturday morning (sometimes at 9:00am) and get to the field. Learned a lot about being a soccer Mom - about snacks, when to watch, when to sneak photos and when to wear 15 layers because it is cold and windy out there. Note to self there are the professionals (you know who you are) with their chairs and coolers and I am in awe of your greatness. Alessandro played for the light blue team and got number three which was awesome because he sees Daddy in his Bale jersey all the time and thought that was the one to be. So cute - They played the entire schedule with a few rain outs (none of then 9:00am games of course) and got a great trophy and celebration on the last week. We missed photos so everything is from Mama - sorry - will do better next year. Welcome to the world of this soccer Mama... XOXO

Welcome Back BBQ -

St. P's had a great welcome back BBQ for the Parents of the Day School. Mama Duck was the chair again this year so there was always a lot to do -especially with the fact that our original date got rain delayed, but on the next Saturday the weather was perfect. Photo of Carin and Mama (yes that is Angelo spit up all over my sweater). There was BBQ delights, a bounce house, games and everything else with a small carnival style. The boys had a blast and loved seeing everyone.... So much fun - XOXO P.S. am considering re-doing the entire basement in a bounce house so they can jump and wrestle to their hearts content....

Aunt Debroah's Shower -

The boys had a great time hosting and taking part of Aunt Deb's Shower.... Her Baby Girl was due in late fall and everyone is so excited.... So we drove up to CT and had a great outside BBQ and celebration. Poor Deb did not get to open many of her gifts because the boys did that - but she did have the most awesome baby cake ever (thank you Christine) which was delicious. Alessandro actually won a couple of the baby games which was fun and Angelo tuckered out and took the baby's new crib for a spin - ahhhhh. Afterwards we went to a diner to continue to celebrate and all had grilled cheese and fries.... the perfect day. Am not sure the boys are on board with the fact that they will no longer be number one to Deb and Sean but we are all excited for the baby's safe arrival and to have her for all our adventures. We love you Deb - so exciting.... XOXO

Back to School -

This fall both older Laterzas are back to school and very excited about their new classes, teachers and friends. All the worries we had for little Antonio being nervous and afraid were wiped out when he strapped on his back pack and headed off for his adventures. Alessandro has Mrs. S five days a week in a classroom of 10 four year olds - they are learning lots about letters, reading and fundamentals (days of the week, shapes, weather etc.). Antonio has Mrs. H three mornings a week in a class of 6 two year olds.... enough said. Each day they go to the playground (or awesome bike room) have snack and do arts and crafts/story time. They are working on basics like colors and feelings trying to share and play well which is most important. Both boys love school and are so excited about each day there. We are so very fortunate... XOXO

Editors Note -

Yes it has been quite a while since there were updates on the old Laterza Blog.... that is sadly all on Mommy as it has been a little crazy around here with three little ones and all that we have going on. Alas it is our New Years Resolution to blog more and make sure we get all the photos and videos of the little ones out for their loyal readers to see. Guess three children four and under, chairing a school event, taking charge of a JL giving event, traveling for the holidays etc. is a poor excuse but we will try harder....... Hope you will enjoy all the updates on all the exciting things going on here - these guys are amazing and changing and growing everyday. XOXO Mama Duck -

Italian Festival -

One of the Highlights around this area is the local Italian Festival - it is where a large local church puts on a three day fun fest over Labor Day and everyone comes to ride rides and eat some of the most delicious (and dangerous) food anywhere. They have everything from home made italian yummies to fried oreos... David was thrilled to get his delicious fried dough that he had been talking about for months.... Yumm.... The boys loved all the rides and wanted to try everything at least once - okay five times for some rides. They do not quite grasp the ticket to ride theory but Daddy is working on that for next year. So much fun - Can't wait for our first Disney experience soon - they are so going to be ready.... Of course around here everyday is like an Italian Festival - the rides are just a little different. XOXO

Zoo Trip Daddy -

The last week of summer - Daddy took some time off from work and spent it with the boys. One of the highlights was our first trip to the zoo as a party of five.... We had been this summer with Miss Jamie but not with Daddy. There are lots of new exhibits there - including the boys favorite "Peaches" the large Alligator - cool - and some new big cats. There is also going to soon be a Sea Lion exhibit next year so stay tuned for that excitement. Also interesting is that the boys are getting more comfortable and now LOVE two exhibits that used to scare them - the aquarium (it is dark in there) and the Aviary which used to scare them with birds flying all around (have screamed myself to be honest) but now they are obsessed with the birds and love feeding them and getting close to them... Ahhhh. Of course our favorite attraction is still the train but they are boys after all. Can't wait to be back soon - XOXO
