The Zoo With Daddy -

We were so excited to go back to the zoo this weekend with Daddy. Daddy does not usually get to go with us to the zoo and is usually subject to calls with screams and squeals in the background. So on Saturday night we just decided to go. Luckily we go so much that we have a usual pattern (as in ADL is kind of bossy these days) about how we see the animals and what we do next. It had been raining that morning and when we got there the activity sign read "Train Closed." Well as you can guess my hear sank because it is Alessandro's absolute favorite part of the day and what we save for last to make sure that he is well behaved along the way. Lucky for us by the time we got to the "station" the train was nice and dry and running it's usual schedule. Alessandro now loves to ask "What is your favorite part?" Then everyone has to say what they liked best - bonus if you mention something he liked and required that it involves him in some way. This trip he said he favorite thing was riding the carousel and his favorite animal was the penguins "who swim like me in swim class." HA!
Also for you animal lovers - we really had a show put on for us - all of the animals were in top form and easily visible for the boys. Those of you who have been to Turtleback know that it is made for kids to get up close and experience them, but this was above and beyond their best day to see everything. The penguins, eagles, bobcats, red panda (especially friendly and just right there) and daddy's favorite the monkey that put on quite a show for all. It is not too strange to see a peacock right in front of the boys stroller or a wild bird on top of a building which the boys love. For those of you close by - it is well worth an outing!! Come on!
Daddy loved seeing the boys and how they react to all the animals and activities - he also got to ride the merry go round with ADL who chose a perfect for memorial day eagle for his ride. During the fun Nino just sat in the stroller and waved which I am enjoying now because he does not like to miss out in much of the action these days. XOXO
