August Fun

August has included lots of fun for the boys and sometimes even for persons who just happen to be around (sometimes unwillingly). We have been spending all of the last days of summer at the "Swim Club" where we swim in the baby pool, big pool (ADL is very happy he can touch when there are no waves of course) and the beloved sand box. The Sand Box seems to be even a bigger hit then the pool some days which is fine for mama because it is still fun in the sun and seems to wear then both out equally as well. Daddy comes to join us some afternoons after work and even a little earlier on Friday (love the summer) and when we go in the morning not to meet him the boys are sadly disappointed. In related news swim class just wrapped up for Alessandro and he is doing really well - swimming alone (with his belt on) for 25 meters and jumping off the side at record pace. Next goals are swimming alone and back floating which does not seem to be our strong suit to date.
Also this summer Alessandro has completed the summer reading list for his age at the library - he got his name on their brag board and seemed pretty excited about that. Daddy is mostly to credit for this accomplishment since they read most of the books together at bedtime. Think David is worried that he will soon start rhyming a la Dr. Seuss at work.... The library has also had some other fun events like the "bubble night" and the pirate magic show which was very exciting.
In preparation for our upcoming trip we have lots of packing and running around to do. The boys both got haircuts and we shipped two huge boxes down to mama Boal so we should have all the creature comforts there when we arrive - so exciting. XOXOXO
P.S. If you are wondering what the first photo is - it is yet another blimp that we caught flying over the house. We think we are on a path to where they are inflated and then always see them heading into the city for events. This one was for the golf tourney in NJ - the boys think it is endlessly fascinating and we can just not believe that we see so many that they think it is normal... crazy!
