There has been lots going on in our little world. Both boys continue to be non-stop busy and love running around the house and the yard. Right now we especially love the basement since that is where the train table is. We have it on good authority from Daddy that he is not going to purchase another train table so think a little more "sharing" might be in the works for the coming weeks. Speaking of sharing - another Mom passed along a "rising zebra" to Nino and it has been non-stop excitement since then. Both boys love to ride him like a mechanical bull and laugh and giggle about. It is literally one of the best free toys ever. But it is big so let me know who wants me to pay it forward next???? Yahooo!
School continues to go great and Alessandro is learning things at a pace that literally makes me dizzy. This month alone he has learned the days of the week and what month and day it is. This is fun since he counts the days off and it always makes me think of the Godfather and poor Apolonia trying to learn. ADL loves his reading group where he stays after school and they explore a new book - afterwards they write a report and do a craft. Last week he told me in the car on the way home that the book was about a big pirate ship with a famous pirate on board who did really great and exciting things. When we looked at the report we laughed when the book was about Christopher Columbus..... HA! Way to celebrate the heritage huh? Alessandro is also doing great in Sunday school where Mama Duck is about to finish her weeks as teacher (whew)... Last week we studied baby Moses and ADL told Daddy all about the story about the little baby in the basket - which makes all the effort much more worthwhile. Alessandro continues with swim where he is showing great improvement with swimming on his own (see video). Now if we could just get to a haircut before his crazy hair takes over.
Antonio is just talking up a storm - he has new words like coat, shoes and pumpkin. He is also pointing to every truck we see in the car and trying very hard to say truck, but he is not quite there so he just makes a bunch of noise and points. Nino is now officially in love with his snoopy and carries him around just like brother (and Daddy before them). We continue to love all books and right now Nino loves for his brother to "read" to him in one of the chairs downstairs. I say read because Alessandro has memorized most of his favorite books and can tell the story as he flips through the pages. Antonio still loved gymnastics and is always totally worn out afterwards and usually sacks out on the couch before we even get upstairs. It is so fun to watch him jump and run around with all the other little people. Nino has made great strides in his attachment issues - he does not even cry when he goes to Mommy's morning out or the gym which is great. Considering where the poor thing started from this is great improvement. Now is we could just concur the nursery at church.....
Of course we must mention that the house was all excited this past Saturday when the Gamecocks beat Alabama. The boys were champs during the game decked out in full regalia for USC (thanks Auntie Tressa). They like pointing to the TV and especially when we got all excited at the awesome plays. Alessandro also likes to say touchdown, go Jets (at least it is the right sport) and then to point to a player and say 17 is on our team right daddy and he is almost always right. Yes we are raising a pack of little Sportscenter Junkies and the basement will soon be turned into a Sporting Man Cave. Yippee!
Lastly Welcome Back Nonna - we are so glad you are home from your big trip. Love to PopPop and Grammie as they leave for their big adventure - we are so excited and can not wait to hear all about it. XOXOXO
