Trick or Treat Fun & Party -

After a BIG party at school - we began to look forward to our neighborhood party at Mrs. Kate's house. Kate always throws the best party with just the most fun group of families ever. The boys were quite a hit in their costumes including Daddy who went as Charlie Brown to complete the ensemble. Those of you who know mama well know that dress up ensembles have always been my dream and since David will not let me dress everyone up a la the Sound of Music Halloween will have to do.
Both boys seemed to enjoy being dressed up at the party after they saw everyone else in costume (there was some original dread about headpieces especially from little Nino). They kept their costumes on for over an hour and then went down to their pumpkin shirts for some serious fun and dinner. Everyone played in the backyard (even after dark) and enjoyed a lovely and gracious dinner spread. There were even meatballs which as you know are a family favorite with everyone. The older kids enjoyed some special shenanigans and TPed the neighbor's (they were at the party as well) house. The owner just happens to be a police officer and had a friend come by and give them some tricks of their own which was fun (can't they just stay little forever?). At the end there were some fun games but they boys were definitely starting to get tired and then we got "red-lighted" by Daddy who sensed we had a serious diaper situation with little Nino. It is always all fun until the blow-out right?
The next day (Halloween proper) Alessandro and Daddy went back to Mrs. Kate's neighborhood to Trick or Treat with the same group. This seemed to work well since there are not many young families in our direct hood and everyone was very into celebrating there. There was a pretty large group who went door to door with the Daddy Pack. Alessandro seemed to be pretty shy at first not understanding what all this was about - he was asking - who lives there? Do they want us to visit? Come with me Daddy? After the third house these reservations were long forgotten and he was knocking on doors and running ahead with David trying to keep up. Of course there were some funny things in his bag which lead me to wonder if some people were out of candy? Bag of lays chips? Pretzels? Coupons for teeth cleaning??? Money???? Guess there is never enough people just giving out peanut bitter cups right? He had quite a lot of loot when he got home and an even bigger smile to go along with it. Fun Fun Fun!!! Perhaps Nino will even get to go next year and not miss all the fun napping.. HA! XOXOXO
