The Santa Breakfast was the weekend after Thanksgiving at School/Church and we were very excited. This is a fun event where you have a group breakfast and Santa is there to have a little "Meet and Greet" and great photo opportunity. The boys were so excited and literally counting down the days until all the fun. On the morning of we headed right for the church parish hall clicking our heels with excitement - the boys sat at the table nibbled on munchkins, coloring waiting for the big guys arrival. When Santa arrived they were so excited and clapped and smiled it was great and we got very excited for our turn to have a visit. When things had calmed down a little and Santa had met with his most eager guests - we approached him with the boys. All of a sudden both froze and started to get hysterical in fright. Alessandro quickly tossed his "wish list" in the general direction of Santa and turned away bordering on tears. Antonio had stepped onto the stage with Daddy but cried hysterically until he walked away. There was no consoling either of them or getting them to sit pretty for the coveted photo op. Poor Mama was left with some teary eyed photos of the boys showing the worst side of themselves. Oh well I think it is the age and perhaps my BIL can photo shop something for the mantel for years to come.
After the Santa Breakfast we hopped into the car to head to DC to visit with some of our best friends in the world - Dave and Amy and their beautiful family. This is one of our favorite places to visit since the babes all have such a good time together and because there is no pressure to be anything other then the family people we are. We just shared delicious meals (Dave is a fantastic griller) and enjoyed their beautiful home (what we did not trash of course). The boys played a fun "jumping" game with Jacob where you run and jump off their basement ottoman onto a large fluffy down comforter. This sadly provided hours of fun entertainment as you can see by the smiling faces. The two Dave's stayed home with the babes while the ladies enjoyed a lovely ladies brunch with beloved Meg and then the boys went out that night to enjoy football games at a local pub. Everyone had a blast and we had a great visit - Enjoy the photos of little Jacob and Ailish with the boys who are both absolute angels.
