One of the Highlights around this area is the local Italian Festival - it is where a large local church puts on a three day fun fest over Labor Day and everyone comes to ride rides and eat some of the most delicious (and dangerous) food anywhere. They have everything from home made italian yummies to fried oreos... David was thrilled to get his delicious fried dough that he had been talking about for months.... Yumm.... The boys loved all the rides and wanted to try everything at least once - okay five times for some rides. They do not quite grasp the ticket to ride theory but Daddy is working on that for next year. So much fun - Can't wait for our first Disney experience soon - they are so going to be ready.... Of course around here everyday is like an Italian Festival - the rides are just a little different. XOXO

Zoo Trip Daddy -
The last week of summer - Daddy took some time off from work and spent it with the boys. One of the highlights was our first trip to the zoo as a party of five.... We had been this summer with Miss Jamie but not with Daddy. There are lots of new exhibits there - including the boys favorite "Peaches" the large Alligator - cool - and some new big cats. There is also going to soon be a Sea Lion exhibit next year so stay tuned for that excitement. Also interesting is that the boys are getting more comfortable and now LOVE two exhibits that used to scare them - the aquarium (it is dark in there) and the Aviary which used to scare them with birds flying all around (have screamed myself to be honest) but now they are obsessed with the birds and love feeding them and getting close to them... Ahhhh. Of course our favorite attraction is still the train but they are boys after all. Can't wait to be back soon - XOXO

Come on Irene -
Yes the big storm of the century came right by us my friends. Of course we were very lucky to not get hit directly and we experienced no flooding or power loss ourselves. We left the power outages to poor pregnant Deb of course. Chrissy our friend from the city came out for the event as her hood was evacuated from downtown Manhattan where we used to live. After all the excitement the boys were getting quite nervous so we went to the store and bough flashlights and supplies - while we were there we also bought a "storm tent" for them to sleep in downstairs to keep them safe during all the excitement. You could not escape it that week and all the chatter was making them nervous. Luckily we only lost a little sleep, some branches on the trees out back and thousands of batteries that were used up needlessly playing with their cool flashlights. Oh and two lifetimes of power on Chrissy's iPad for the boys playing Angry Birds for hours (it was like instinctual I tell you). Afterwards we drove around and did not actually realize how bad it had been so close to our home. We feel very fortunate and although the boys are a little sensitive about weather now it was another exciting adventure....Oh and the tent is still up in the living room a month later they are obsessed and we can not face ourselves to take it down. XOXO
The end of August was filled with lots of adventures - there were birthday parties (one at the local firehouse), play dates, more fun at the pool, a visit from PopPop, Sunday School, a visit to Pump It Up on a Rainy Day - Lots of Rainy Days (thanks Nonna for the snazzy rain gear) and fun. Of course there were lots of fun times with games, puzzles and practicing our letters for school at home but that was mostly fun as well. Come to think of it just sitting on the couch with these three is a crazy exciting experience as you can see. Come and visit soon - Come on School.... XOXO
Sesame Place 2011

We took the boys on a excursion of a lifetime with our day trip to Sesame Place.... As everyone knows our boys are in love with everything Sesame and love each of their creature/monster friends. Well after a long build up with the boys and some hesitation from Mom and Dad we set off for our day at Sesame with PopPop as our perfect hostage. Daddy did all the planning for the day and purchased our tickets, our VIP cabana and parking. At first this seemed a little extravagant but we had no idea how important it would soon become. See we parked right by the gate where we unloaded everyone and went right into our fun day. Our fabu cabana was right on the lazy river (a premiere attraction) and we had space in the shade to chillax, store our stuff and to use as home base. We left the baby and PopPop in the cabana and went off to ride rides and meet new friends (like Elmo and The Count). As our fun was getting started it started to rain - so we were back at the cabana as everyone ran for shelter. The boys went on the lazy river in the rain (such champs) while Mommy ordered room service lunch to be delivered which was nice. The baby got fed, we had lunch and then everyone napped (something that would later save us). We had some friends come by and see us for a visit (Zoe) and special seating for Elmo Rocks Live Show (he is really BIG folks). We rode rides, met all our friends (including cookie) and had the best time ever. The boys were champs they patiently waited in lines, smiled for photos and went on adventures like water slides (where they had to take turns with Daddy) and for sunblock (okay we are obsessive). We made it all the way through the day but where was Big Bird??? We had looked everywhere... At night we stayed for dinner and the night time parade - where we got to go to the VIP Meet and Greet beforehand (thank you Daddy) and there he was Big Bird - the boys had never looked so excited. After that we watched the parade and then piled two very tired boys into the car and headed home - they were awake amazingly for the first hour driving home talking about the day and then they both crashed. Thank you Nonna for the awesome Super Shirts - we wore them on our most Super "Sunny" Dayz - XOXOXO
