Gym Day -

Today we celebrated a brothers day at the gym. Usually the boys are in different gym classes but today our local newcomers club had a special meeting and private class. This means that all the toddlers were allowed to come and run around like monkeys for 45 minutes. Of course A2 was more then glad to show everyone how crazy and excited to be which was loads of fun. The boys did the bars ("swing like monkeys"), floor exercise ("rolling like pencils and forward like") and the balance beam ("walk the skinny thing") which was all quite impressive. There was also a little bubble time, tunnel time (which Nino was crazy about) and also some time to just jump around on mats and be crazy - which was likely their favorite. The quick video shows how ADL really has his forward roll down which is quite impressive unless it is in his bedroom when you are trying to get pajamas on as Daddy will attest. Love to all - XOXOXO

ADL's Actual Birthday -

Yes after about a month of celebrating it was finally ADL's actual fourth birthday. We had the party early to avoid Holy Week and everyone being on vacation which was nice. So for the actual day we got a nice cake and let him finally open the "family gifts" that had been waiting in the living room all these weeks as he waited patiently. We had a nice family evening of celebrating together which was great. We also had a final trip into class for another little "munchkin" birthday this week which was very nice as well. Two days later ADL went to the pediatrician and received an excellent report - for you "numbers" watchers here are the stats.... Height - 43" (95%) Weight 40 1/2 lbs (80%) 20/20 vision and some misc. vaccinations. All good news - Yes the BIG one is officially four now which we are excited and sad about when we ponder how quickly the time seems to be going. Hooray for Alessandro.... XOXO

Easter Day Excitement -

We were very excited that the impending bad weather took a back seat to a glorious Easter Day. We started off with early (David was not pleased with the loss of his Sunday morning) children's service which was very nice - the babes made it almost the entire way through the service. Afterwards there was a casual Easter Egg hunt in the church playground (also the school playground that the boys are VERY familiar with). ADL quickly hunted for eggs while his little brother headed straight for the large slide and came down backwards right into the mud. Yes the cute little special Easter outfits took quite a beating but they did survive the wash luckily. Afterwards we went home to finish opening our Easter Bunny Loot (he was kind enough to leave directions on what was for before church and after whew) and got a quick bit of rest.

Afterwards we were kindly invited to our dear friends house to share Easter Lunch and festivities with their beautiful family. We are often sad to be here in NJ all alone, but were glad to be adopted by this perfect, fun and faithful lot. Of course the boys headed right for their play set and immediately got covered with mud from head to toe and had to be carried each time they entered the house (even without shoes). Am wondering when Tide is going to approach us to be their spokesman but I can not wait for the endorsement (see Nino's pants after the day was over - these did not come clean of course). The boys had a great time playing with the other kids and LOVED the additional Easter Egg hunts where they were able to get lots of great eggs and candy... So much fun! XOXO

Easter Professional -

Yes we were lucky enough to have a great local photographer take photos of the boys this year for Easter. These included shots with live Easter Bunnies of course. You know how they say never work with children or animals.... well trying to work with both is definitely challenging at best. HA! We were moved by how well they turned out and hope they are a lovely keepsake for remembering when they were little and Mommy was still able to dress them like little Von Trapps as David (and Father Andrew) like to say. We feel very blessed this Easter... XOXOXO

Project "Eggs" Preparing for Easter -

Yes this is the first year we tested coloring eggs at Casa Laterza. We started with nine and decided we would go from there if it was successful - and Daddy was not willing to part with more of his breakfast eggs I think. The boys loved it and were immediately excited about coloring, decorating and most importantly stickering their eggs. They ended up working pretty hard on them and we were pretty impressed. Of course they did not understand why they could not just go and hunt these and play with them like their plastic ones (or why they had to stay in the refrigerator - or why Daddy was eating them for breakfast) but they loved it. They also love watching the video that "shows off" their creations. Happy Easter. XOXO

BunnyLand (hop hop hop)

Yes we went for a very exciting adventure at "BunnyLand" aka our favorite local NJ farm during the fall where we pick apples, pumpkins and go on a hay ride. They re-invented themselves as a Bunny Festival complete with egg hunts, a hay maze, hay ride, face painting (we decided to do our hands instead as we were a little afraid), an egg roll, egg toss and lots of other fun outside games. The boys loved it and even though it does not seem like Easter weather yet they had a great outing for sure. Of course the homemade doughnut that we got when we were leaving was fabulous but did worry daddy since they were eating powdered doughnuts in the new car (oops). Both boys are sure to be egg hunt experts by the time the BIG day comes... XOXOXO
